I should be getting some 33 x 12.5R15 Mud tires from High-Tec Retreading this winter.

Do their tires actually measure 33"? :D Or are they smaller? :(

I am not sure. I never measured mine. But I would bet they are very close to it, if not exactly. But I would imagine that the actual height might vary depending on the carcases that you get them on.

You can specify a specific carcas if you have a preference. BFG's have the triple side wall for better strength.

I love mine and I will measure them now, even though I have several thousand miles on them now.

Have you had any problems with them? Falling apart, separating, etc...

EDIT: PS: What Backspacing and width are you running on your wheels? Thanks

retreads  my girlfriend almost died when her retreaded tire decided it was time to end the party at 65 mph on the freeway

any tire can fail. ask Ford and Firestone.

True enough - but how many of those treads littering the highway are not from retreads? I certainly would never place retreads on any four wheel vehicle that was going to be driven on the road.

The treads litterin the highway are 99% of the time from semi or other commercial trucks that run them on their trailers til they fall apart. Not as crictical if a trailer tire blows... so they use them till they are gone.
I used to drive a roll-back and would get bored repoing cars, so I'd jump on the CB and talk to the truckers. Not many would admit to it.. but enough said it was true.
The re-treads I bought or the ones being spoke of in this tread...will probably not have the loads or miles put on without proper inspection.
Just like anyother tire.. there can be failure... in those $200 BFGS or the $60 Re-treads.

Good luck with the Re-Treads.. i love mine...i have the 31s and I believe they are a true 31".

90% of those retreads littering the highway are from semi's. If you price new semi tires, good retreads and cheap retreads....figure in the number of tires those companies go thru you'll see why some may choose to run the cheap retreads. However the cheap retreads separate rather easily in particularly on hot days. Retreads for cars/suvs are much better as long as they're from a reputable source.

Thanks. I am looking foward to them. Too bad Uwharrie will be closed by the time I get them. They were ordered today and they said it will take about 3 weeks plus 7 -10 days for shipping. It's worth the wait.

Can anyone confirm the 33's are true 33" tires? 2xtreme, I am looking at you. ;) :D

I would love to be able to let you know, however the vehicle is not here at the moment. I will be able to measure them tomorrow though and will do that and post for you then.

I have my 33's on a 15x8 with 3.75bs just for info.

I have heard at least 30 different sources rave about the Hi tec retreads. I have heard not one negative yet.

For the price I do not think you can beat them. And I am very happy with them.

Most failures of any tire can be prevented with proper maintenance (checking tire pressure regularly) and with proper replacement intervals.

As a added bonus, the ability to recycle a tire is a excelent way to help preserve our environment!!

How much was total cost including shipping?

It cost $370 for 4 33x12.50R15 muds shipped to Chapel Hill, NC.

I was quoted 450 for 5 33x12.50s shipped to my door. High-tec is supposed to be introducing their 35x12.50 and 37x12.50 in december. Im anxiously awaiting to see if they pull through.

At USA6x6.com they list 37x12.50x16.5 retreads at 120 a tire. Not a bad deal if you ask me

I measured mine for the first time and I get somewhere between 32.5" and 33". Keep in mind I am measureing with a tape measure to the best of my ability on my own.

you can get them now? I tried to buy some 33s over the summer. Waited 3 months and still did not get any. Canceled the order and bought some used TSLs.
having that much trouble getting them worried me that if I needed a replacement I would be stuck without a tire for a long time.

I just got a reply from them and they said they should be getting 35's at the first of the year. I would just buy 5 or 6 tires that way you don't have to wait for a spare.
