OK, I jumped on another thread and bought mine from another member here. Thought he just did not want to mess with the internals replacing the actuators.
Well it seems I read between the lines and was "assumeing" the price included actuators... it does not.
I have a 2dr and need the front actuators... any idea how I can get them????
He has the actuators on that website for $64 bucks shipped for a pair. So if you have a 4 door your screwed lol. Man these prices are so steep compared to alex parts. The front grill with headlights is $300 and $185 for shipping, however, I do not see any fenders listed. You need the fenders to do the swap unless you feel like cutting into your oem ones. He'll probably list the fenders as $300 or something ridiculous.
I ordered the last pair of black handles (discontinued) and a set of actuators. Had a little time today to try to install. This is not a matter of switching out actuators. The handles, yes. The upper bolt hole is on the right side and doesn't line up with the factory hole. A new hole needs to be drilled and the factory bolts are too long. If you have power locks you will lose them using the new actuators. Not sure I want to still install these, I like my power locks. When I have more time to play around with it, I will. Maybe I can mix and match parts from the two actuators.
so will this swap work on power door lock. is there anyway to keep the stock actuator and latch and just use the 2500 handle. and whats with the 2500 front end swap? its fing ugly
If you recall, I was the guy that asked tiantian1224 to offer these handles here in the first place; however, there comes a time where you're forced to face the concept of "diminishing returns". These handles are pretty, but are mere aesthetics worth buying new actuators that will be impossible to source in the future, or drilling extra holes in your doors, or ditching your power door locks/ making your keyless entry useless?
We don't build jeeps to make money. Every custom mod is a waste of money, if you look at it. Jeeps are not investments, they are toys. Whether your priority is at looks or various types of performance...
To each their own. Derogatory comments are not needed here. Just be happy that someone is willing to support our hobby.
Wish Jeep would just bring the XJ back stateside so we could get these parts easier/cheaper. Along with having a good Jeep to accompany the Wrangler in their lineup. Nothing else they offer even interests me in the least when it comes to having lots of potential as an off-road vehicle.
Definitely would be nice to have a pull handle as opposed to the button. Make it a lot easier to avoid getting a handful of mud after you just caked the whole handle going through a mud hole.
