It is damn near a felony. My friend was driving our other friends car and he was rear ended. Completely 100% the other drivers fault. Since my friend wasn't listed on the insurance and he didn't have his own insurance (because he didn't own a car) he was hit with a driving without insurance and beinging "involved" in a collision (they're not really called accidents any more). His license was suspended and 2 years and he had to pay through the ass on his insurance (when he did get a car) for the next 7 years.
