So I got t-boned today.
So heres the story:
Heading north, I pulled up to a stop light, that was blinking red, all directions were stopped, so I waited my turn and went. Half way thought the light I see a Ford Explorer heading east and not stopping, headed strait for me, I hit the gas hard to keep him from hitting my door, and he hits the rear Quarter and spins me 45* to the west. Once I stop, I start looking around, and notice that he's not stopping, he's slowed down but looks like he's trying to leave :rantscream: I quickly decided I was not going to be the victim of a hit-and-run. So I gun it and spin back east after him spinning tires, sliding, fishtailing all over the place, almost never letting off the gas the whole time, THAT caught the attention of a cop in the west bound traffic, and he flips his lights on and comes after me, as I follow the Explorer into a neighborhood where he was finally coming to a stop. I am visibly PIS.... um... upset and he about draws on me cause I threw the Jeep in park and threw my door open. He starts yelling at me and tells me to get back in my car, I don't so he asks what the hell is going on, I respond "He t-boned me, and was trying to leave". By this time the other driver is out of his car, and the cop starts yelling at him instead.
Mexican drivers license, Ohio plates, no insurance, doesn't speak english. They arrested him for something along the lines of: attempted hit and run, driving without a license, and driving without insurance, and I think they were going to deport him. Now I'm left with the bill to deal with my insurance.
As far as the damage goes, the rear axle did take part of the hit. But we are hoping that the rim/tire took the brunt, of it, maybe the axle shaft too, but I wont know about the rest until I can get it checked out. Hate the thought of this jerk off trashing my newly acquired D44. The rear pillar looks damaged, and may need pulled out. The rear door obviously needs replaced(luckily the local pic-a-part has a few late models in stock). The rear quarter, I'm thinking hammer it out and throw some Thor 4x4 corner guards on there to cover up most of the damage. The rocker, I was already thinking about rock slider replacement rockers.
