I had fun at the gun show today.

I'll have to get a picture of fat rat with its little sibling, the M&P 15-22. Doug, you need one. Loads of fun, I run through a brick of .22 in an a couple of hours, and only spend $20 to do so. Everyone who shoots it wants one (two friends have already bought their own).

.22 is our next purchase i want to be able to go to the range and not mortgage the house. how much do you have in the m&p if you dont mind? i was thinking of picking up a new ruger 10/22 but as always i prefer the ar style platform

I dont want to spend a lot on the individual upgrades, it was only a $600 gun. As soon as I get back from being underway I gotta get to the range and shoot it, decide from there what I do to it. A buddy of mine has a DPMS with the SlideFire stock, I wanna shoot his and I might get that if I like it.

$430 new at my local store. It's more than the ruger but oh so worth it and just as accurate if not more, in my case anyways. But yeah, nothing beats the .22 prices after that. 1500 rds through it for a grand total of 9 hrs of range fun and $60? Can't beat it.

you suck............. nice black guns i carry an xd40 subcompact and love it, ive thought about getting a fullsize one in a .45.


the dpms stuff is kickin. I probably wont put together an AR this year, ill probably wait until i graduate and can afford it. Right now im trying to expand the collection to stuff thats easier on the wallet to shoot. Her 9mm is fun and the 7.62 for the mosin is cheep but i may get a nice .22 so i can shoot more than once a month

Doug I picked up a tricked out Ruger 10/22 at the pawn shop yesterday. Has an aftermarket barrel, hogue stock and a bushnell scope on it. Should be fun to blast hundreds of rounds down range. This will be my second .22 because 20 bucks to shoot for hours is awesome! If you are gonna go M4 style do not get the colt M4 .22, it blows teh balls.

I went out and shot yesterday... Wow the Sig 516 is a head above any other AR I have shot. What a difference, so happy with it.

The 15-22 is still a blast to shoot. My coworker got one after seeing mine, it was entertaining for everyone when we both went to town on the steel targets. 60 rds on three targets in under 30 secs.

I also learned I need more practice with the pistol. Not where I want to be with that. 45 is a investment in ammo for practice but it needs to be done.

I didnt think of the cost of ammo when I bought my 45. That will probably be some of my tax money this year, by a case of 500 rounds or so from Cheaperthandirt. Probably do the same thing for my AR before I go home on leave.

Just please don't get Tula or Wolf. The wear on your extractors just isn't worth it IMHO.

Even with the ammo prices I'm still glad I carry .45. We are stockpiling all the brass we can, and a quick trip to my old shop I should be able to score some lead weights, and we can reload .40 and .45 for about .04/rd In some sick twisted way I don't mind practicing with factory loads because I know some cheaper ammo is down the road.

I found some decent ammo on CTD, comes out to about $.37, think it was Federal. I am underway right now, so when I get back I will have the cash and by something good. Couple of my buddies have XDM 45s and say they will shoot anything, but I still dont wanna fire anything to bad/dirty through it.

I normally buy Magtech for practice at .37 at my local shop. That's cheaper than almost all online deals so I'm happy, although I have an exceptionally good shop. I have run Remington UMC and been happy with that, and some old blaser and hand loads my buddy wanted to use up. I run Federal in my .22 and .223. One that I have not been happy with is Winchester White Box (WWB). It ran so dirty this weekend after 20 rds I had residue on the outside of my slide at the muzzle.

I carry Hornady Critical Defense. Excellent test results and you really don't get a better name in the ammo/reloading community than Hornady.

Right now, just to keep my guns ready (crappy neighborhood) I have a clip of Remington UMC for the AR and the Hornady Critical Defense for my 45.

remington golden sabres..... sam has the winchester pdx stuff in her 9mm. i need to invest in the hornady stuff for hollow points. i shoot the blazer stuff at the range and have had good luck with it

One warning to heed that I need to confirm, I wouldn't invest too much in surplus 5.56 right away. My buddy bought 500rds of XM193, and I think it may be the cause of over gassing and causing some very interesting and frustrating stovepipes. I will know more when we clean it and I can look at some specific things, and another trip out shooting it. 5.56 is typically loaded hotter than .223, and although the barrel is chambered for 5.56, I think it might be too hot for what is probably a lighter weight buffer and bcg in his Del-Ton. It's a rifle to rifle basis though.

Edit: Looking at the load data the XM193 is the same as the PMC .223 I have. So IDK yet.

Screw all that..... Maybe I should just buy an AK and load bullet shaped rocks in the brass....
