As for the next XJ...won't the previous generation Nissan Pathfinder be the closest thing...unibody, solid rear axle, came out when Nissan was in 'partnership' with Renault (XJ came during the AMC/Renualt era)...

Dont Shoot me:shhh:, but i think the FJs look like they could be a decent rig with some mods. I like the wheel base and the sharp edges to the styling.
I hear alot of people dont like how they look, but they have kind of grown on me.
If i were to get a newish rig, id stick with either a Xterra or one of the FJs with out a white roof.
One of the all black FJs drives around my house with about a 5 inch and 34s(??) on soft 8s. Plus a big CB whip.
Id drive it.
