I found the next XJ....

Compact SUV with a frame, 4wd, it actually has a solid rear axle instead of IRS.

Thats what amazed me.
Solid rear axle isn't any big thing. IRS in compact SUVs is a pretty rare thing until recently. My 94 Geo Tracker had an actual frame and a solid rear axle. It was $12k brand new, fully loaded it might have topped $20k... Even when they redesigned into something looking like that Sorrento, they kept that setup. The Explorer didn't go IRS until the current gen.

I say give the XTerra time, it'll fill the gap left by our XJs once they all rot into the dirt.

You know what's the hardest part about wheeling a Kia? Telling your friends you're gay.

there can only be one ... replacement.

I'm about to machine some spacers out of the steel at school, get longer bolts and keep the rubber insulators on top of the spacers and put a body lift and some 33's on my girlfriend's kia.

Of course it has a solid axle, solid axles are cheap. IRS is not.

Xterra FTW over any KIA

When mine dies I'm doing a grand. looking for a sammy for the girl. I bet Kia parts are a pita to source. I remember trying to find an alternator and belt for one for a customer, it was hell (couple years ago mind you)

H3? Run fast if so!

Having owned a brand new KIA for 1 month, then returning it to the dealership for a full refund because it was THAT bad, I can safely say I wont be buying another ANYTIME soon.

They are pure crap.

It wouldnt pull a greased string out of a chickens butt. It was dowright scary merging into oncoming traffic. It had more rattles inside with 3,000 miles than my 96 XJ in the states has with 190,000 miles.

No thanks. ~ James

I don't think there is any way you can say a Kia is the next XJ.

A liberty lives up to that statement more than a Kia does.

I've driven a few, not too bad. The new Optimas, 07+, are actually pretty nice. The Spectra isn't too bad (actually had a customer compliment me on that one; his rental while his Bentley was in the shop...) it's just too small for me. Not a fan of the Rio cause it's even smaller than the Spectra. I also drove an 07 Sorento and it wasn't bad. I thought it could be fun in the sand, good power, but I don't know how the suspension would hold up. The one I drove was fairly soft.
Mind you, I'm not saying I want one, but they're aren't too bad.

EDIT: PS that video was WEAK! I could make my minivan climb most of what they did in that Sorento.
