I found some cheap xj fender flares

XJs came with 3 different width factory fender flares and two styles. So these might just be molded from the widest variant of the early style.

Huh? what are the 3 different widths and which ones come with which widths?(confusing, I know,) But anyways.... Every XJ I've seen has either had what looks to be the same flares except the new squares style ones....?

in the right hand colum it starts with the CJ8 next is the XJ flares and right after that is the 7" flares
Am now wondering if that description is for the flares underneath the XJ ones or not?

Don't know the exact widths, but I do believe it's wider by about an inch or so? I just installed 2 on the front, and they are fully covering my tires, 265's, on stock 16x7's with 1.25 inch spacers. The stock TJ flares I've got for the rear are noticably narrower, and they aren't painted...hmmm

Would you be so kind to measure the front flare width for us? They do taper so maybe above the middle of the wheel would be good.

if it is, cheaper uglier substitute for bushwhackers. If you gotta be legal it could come in handy.

Do you know how many times I've ripped my Bushwackers off? They need to start selling a nut for the other side of the bolts so this does NOT happen. I'd rather break the flare than have it get ripped off. I'm calling Omix right now to verify if these are indeed 7" wide.

Omix says they are NOT extended. They are factory. They ship in a box that's: Blah" by Blah" by 5".

Earliest Wagoneers had lower profile flares. Regular XJs have the most common flares, then around 93 or 94 the flares were a bit wider (dont know if that was only with the Upcountry package though). Lastly the 97+ flares. The rarest are the early low profile flares I think I've only seen them twice (maybe they only made them in the first year?). I have a set of the regular early flares and the wider units (only the front flares are wider).

The flares I have mounted up front are from a Sahara, and look to be just about 5 inches from the metal to the outside edge of the flare. The stock replacements (TJ) flares I've not yet mounted look to be 3.5 inches wide.
HTH

Where's a good place to get rear TJ flares cheap, just Ebay? I've seen them around for about $30 each, anything cheaper new? BTW, the junkyards up here suck.

I believe they were supposed to be 1" wider than the standard TJ flare so that seems about right. Thank you.
