If you had 1500-1800(MAX) dollars to spend on a lift with wheels and tires(already have the SYE) and wanted to go with 33"'s for moderate rock-crawling and tougher forest trails and already had a good base with a reliable running XJ with lockers, how would you spend it and why?

Im just trying to get pointed in a direction from some experts as their are a overwhelming number of choices out there....and would hate to spend the money on something only later to regret it.

Its a huge chunk of your hypothetical money but the tnt la front, rustys 6.5" coils and re rear leafs with shackles. If its for a trail rig then get some cheapo bart beadlocks http://www.daymotorsports.com/product/1309/v/20/ ans mtr's hands down

Hypothetically speaking I wouldn't go over 4.5" with 33's for mild wheeling. I'd keep the COG low and trim a bit, giving you a more stable rig and very road worthy.

So, in theory, my lift would look like this:

National Leaf Springs
RE 1310 Coils 4.5"
RE 3780 Control Arm Upper (flex joint)
RE 3715 Control Arm Lower (flex joint)
RE 1660 HD Trackbar
RE 1665 HD Trackbar Bracket
RE Control Arm Drop Brackets and Braces

Total Cost: $1540 - ish before shipping and all brand new. If you went used and shopped hard, you could get below that cost.

Pick up some used tires and mount them to cheapo steels and you are going to be just over your mark, in theory.

Ok forget the welder and get some RE leafs..

or build the leaf packs and get the tubing bender!!

Why don´t you buy a compleat RE 4,5" Lift Kit with shocks = $895 Shipped in 4wheelcustoms.com Then you have $900 to spend on tires/wheels. To make room for the 33´s just trimm the fenders.
