Hummer got sold

I'm still unsure of why they're completely killing Pontiac. I liked the idea they had of making Pontiac a niche brand selling just a few vehicles like the Solstice and G8.
 
Maybe they will bring the H1 back, kill the H2 and keep going with the H3A.

Pontiac as a niche might work but what would they sell? They killed the GTO last year. G8 isn't bad looking but wasn't selling and that little 2-door coupe did well in the begining but then sales died off as well.
 
Hence the niche. By definition a niche manufacturer wouldn't have high sales. However, in the US, Pontiac had the third highest sales in GM, behind Chevy and Cadillac.
 
I reckon a Chinese firm by the name of Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Co. of China bought it. Not for sure yet.

I was hoping to see more G8's roll off the line. So phasing out Pontiac Kinda sucks. Now the Hummer Brand is gonna become cheap just like all the other Chinese cars!
 
The only way to look at is, now maybe the average Joe might be able to afford one and thay might get more than 6 miles per gallon. HAHA
 
Is it AMGeneral, or whoever was making the H1? From what I understood, Hummer by GM was only marketing rights to the name, and the right to build a vehicle called 'Hummer', not a Humvee. It would be sad to have to buy Army vehicles from China, if this is true.

The military isn't using Humvees anymore anyway. I mean they are using them but not buying new ones.
