How sweet it is.......to finally have shocks again...

Finally got around to installing the Bilsteins tonight. Figures, I have the whole day off work and I don't start until 10pm. Anyway, I had tried to install these before, but ended up wasting 3 bushings and had to put it off until the new bushings arrived. Well they arrived last week, but I've been workin everyday since then. Anyway, the install was fairly uneventful except the bottom stud was being stubborn on the driver's side and wouldn't let the bushing slip on. After everything was buttoned up I went for a well deserved ice-cream at 7-eleven and boy does it ride SWEET. You can still tell I don't have any swaybars, but big bumps no longer rip the steering out of my hands and little bumps are felt, but not jarring. All in all, I love it, there's no comparison to my old Rusty's hydros(2 of which were blown in only 30k miles of use). Peace

Ary,

I've been thinking about getting some Bilsteins and I was wondering where to get them and what part numbers to look for.
By the way my XJ has a 3" lift on it with the stock shock mounts.

Thanks!

Mike, I just called Rusty and ordered them as he was having a sale on them last month. I asked for shocks for 4.5" of lift with the stud to eye conversion in the front. He sent me 4 identical shocks. In other words, if you get rid of the stud style shock up front, you get 4 rear shocks. I flexed it out and it seems that my shocks and flex stop at just about the same time, so the shocks are not the limiters. HTH

P.S. They were on sale for 45$ but I don't think he's doing that deal anymore
