I'm pulling the carpets out of my 89 xj and would like to por 15 the whole floor, how much por15 should I buy? its $145 bucks a gallon up here, but also comes in pints and quarts. Also can any other cleaner and metal prep be used?Thanks@!!

i bought a quart, an did 2 coats in my 4 door, an underneasth it an still have some left, this stuff spreads an goes a long way... an if u plan onusing hurculiner or anyother bed liner on top of it, after ur second coat spray it with self etching primer when its still wet or nothing will stick to it when its dry, an this stuff will not wash off ur skin so wear gloves an longsleeves

awesome thanks!! a quart it is! I plan on reinstalling the carpet after I por15, so I dont even think a topcoat is required? read something about only if its subjected to uv rays.

POR doesn't need a topcoat unless it will be in the sun, which it won't be since you're putting your carpet back in. I've heard it just turns to a charcoal gray color, that's about it.

Consider the small containers available in the six-pack. POR hardens in the can once opened, you can poke a hole in the "skin layer" and get access but it's a PITA to work with.

No need for the Chassis coat if no sunlight will hit it.

POR spreads thin as mentioned and goes a long way.

Not to mention how much you waste everytime you pull that "skin" off. Personally, I think POR is overpriced, and overrated. It would be excellent if it were the price of rustoleum, but at $143 a gallon there are WAY better products. That aren't moisture cure...

Edit: that post came off a little condescending. I'll try and throw together a list here of some better products.

every time i use the por 15 i put what i need in a plastic jug, an recap the por can an place it in the fridge an i have never had it harden on me...
