How Many Multimeters is to Many?

I own 4 digital multimeters, 2 standard Harbor Freight cheapos, 2 Sunpro Automotive style (tach & dwell).

Also own one cheapo analog.

I keep a Sunpro digital and the analog in my XJ's tool bag, the other Sunpro digital in my garage tool box, and one HF in my Wife's Windstar and one in the kitchen junk drawer (to lazy to walk out into the garage!).

So, am I crazy?

Funny you should mention that.

It just so happens I bought the Fluke automotive test kit, way better than the stuff that came stock with the Sunpros.

Yeah we have a couple Flukes here. They are by far a nice meter then my SunPro.

I have 6 HF el cheapos, a nice BK Precision, and an old Radio Crap analog meter. At one point I had 20 of the HF ones when they went on sale for $1.99 each and sold them for $10 each on eBay.

I have a Craftsman and a Sunpro plus a couple of the cheap HF ones. Have a huge old analog multimeter that has been around since the late 60s but the name brand escapes me. It came in a black leather case.

Fluke 88, best & only meter you will have to buy in your lifetime.

Hm...

An old Craftsman "digilog" for a carry-around meter.
A ruggedised Gardner-Bender DMM for basharound when I was working high-rise maintenance.
A Fluke (I don't recall the model number) for bench-testing.
A Pro-Tek (recent acquisition) to overtak the G-B because it does more and takes standardised leads (the G-B does not.)
And and old VTVM that I've still got in storage in IN somewhere - I really should cart that thing out here one of these trips...

And ammo is expendable supplies for use with tools, just like having hand cleaner or disposable rags.

The rule is simple and universal. You have too many multimeters when if they out number the cat's of the crazy "cat" lady down the block.

Yes you need to add Fluke to that collection.

Hmmm we've had several "Show your firearms" posts. I wonder if it is time for a "Show you multimeters" post?

Fluke 83 (needs new lcd it's about 20 yrs old and still works great)

Triplett analog thats about 25 yrs old -only one I have that will read absolutely zero ohms
