How long do "malt beverages" last?

Smirnoff in particular...

I was looking for something under the workbench in the garage today when I came across a Smirnoff case. I thought that it was empty; just figured it was waiting next to the garbage one day, and accidently got kicked under there and forgotten about. When I drug it out and opened it up, turns out theres a 6 pack in there. Well, I threw it in the fridge with plans of consuming it sometime in the near future.(I know, I know, its Smirnoff; but its still good enough for a buzz some night I'm wrenching on the Jeep or someone else's junk...)

Then I got to wondering, how long is this stuff good for?? I figure there's not as much in it to go bad as there is in beer....

Does anybody know?

I had a case for about 2 years once. other than the sugar destilling out of it and leaving a ring around the top of the bottles, it looked fine. I gave it to some girl friends of mine (I sure wasn't gonna drink that crap).

They are still alive, i think.

Not long around here.

lol

I figure it's been there since September, so I guess its still alright. I've had beer that wasn't that old and it wasn't too good. Well, it was Scudweiser to start with, so yeah....

Drink it. After the first couple the taste isn't as noticable anyway. I've actually found beer I lost too. Tasted fine. Of course I'll drink my Fosters warm just as happily as cold.

Damn, I'm about to lose my dinner here...

I hereby hijack this thread in the name of good beer.

Just to make this perfectly clear, Budweiser may be a 'malt beverage' but it is not 'beer'.

Mmmmm... Guinness...

When I worked at Budweiser we couldn't keep packaged beer on the shelf that was more than 110 days old. You could still drink it if it was over that age but you really could tell a difference in the taste. But, hell I still drank it since we got out of date beer for free. :D

Yuengling sucks!! I live 10 minutes away from the brewery and still won't drink that crap. I'm not the type of guy that drinks a type of beer just because its made in my backyard.

Don't get me wrong I drink as much Guinness as the next guy but for flavor you can't beat a good IPA like DogFish Head.
