How is an XJ for a big guy?

I am 6'6" 280 and the only thing i notice in my 97 is that my right leg is resting on the transfer case lever a little. Other than that, no problems here.

I'm only 6'3" 250, I have the same problem with the T-Case lever

I guess XJ's are not immune to the obesity epidemic :roflmao:

6'4" and 330, repeat on the tc lever.

Depends on how you define "obese." I've yet to see an MD (other than my orthopaedist) who has any idea why I weigh so much for my size - they look at me and figure I should weight about forty pounds less (going by looks.)

I've been underestimated for years. "Fighting weight" for me ran about 275# at 9% - technically obese (BMI 34.4,) but I was running a 32" waist at the time (and a 21" collar, ~50" around the chest, ...)

As you have probably guessed, I don't put much stock in the BMI charts - per them, I've just about always been "obese." Funny - it don't show. Even being a bit out of shape like I am now (and I'm holding 260# due to massive doses of depakote,) I'm still only running a 38" waist. Considering my height, that's not all that much. I've always been "big for my size" (I broke six feet before I turned 13, and 200# shortly after that...) so I just attribute it to "normal variation."

Pity I have to keep training doctors. Hopefully, our next new GP won't be privatising, and I can work with him for more than six months...

i'm 6'1" and around 180 and X whatever on hitting the tcase lever with my knee. it occasionally knocks it out of 4low while wheeling but it's not a big deal, and the angles are made worse with the tcase drop anyways

6'6" and 235. I've never owned an XJ without leather and i fit just fine in the pwr leather seats of a pre-97. In a 97+ though I feel cramped in and find that the seat bases are a bit higherin them, both pwr & man seats, and they dont seem to slide back as far.

Regardless of which generation you get, yes you are gonna look b little like a 'big dood in a smaller truck' the XJ is a midsize SUV, it's just a matter of proportions.

In my trail rig, I pulled the entire dash- I have leg room for miles in that.

It must be the 40lb plate in your head.

:D

I bought the Advance Adapters tc adapter linkage, makes the tc case drop zero effect.

I'm 6' 1" and 285#. The sunroof is close. I'd definitely not get the drop inside power sunroof. My head brushes it. The legs are a little tight for length, but not too bad with cruise control for trips.
