House of Heeps Auto Broker?

LOL......... not so much...... A friggin' MWC guy suckered me into acting as his auto broker to find him a clean Colorado XJ...... What? Ya don't want the rusty rigs found out in Illinois??? :D

After 6 or so XJ's not measuring up, and a few asshat Craigslist sellers over promising and WAY under delivering with their crap-turd Cherokees........

I give you John (lesslimited)'s latest acquisition! A '98 Limited!

Found it in Firestone, literally blocks from Dutch's house as a matter of fact..... :shhh:

Real nice leather interior, most of the things that commonly break all work on this rig like the power seat and all 4 window regulators, heat and A/C......

174K miles but it's got a remanufactured long block engine that was installed 17K miles ago along with a new radiator and tune up parts ($2,200 in receipts for all that). Runs great!

242 and full skid package as well.

Looks like it may have had a very minor front hit as the Sport bumper end caps indicate the Limited's fog lights are no more, and the slight paint color difference on those and the header panel tattle on it a bit....... not to mention the poorly aligned "Jeep" emblem....

It has a nasty case of death wobble and bald tires so I'll be helping him out by replacing some front end parts and possibly getting him some good tires/wheels so his trip home is smooth.

Anyway, Congrats John! I think you got a real good deal on it and a nice rust free rig that will last you a while out there in the rust belt!

Thanks again Troy! I knew we would find something better than what the dealers are charging $6-8k for out here. The white looks good when it's not with black/faded bumpers and trim.

When they realized they put the Jee too low they should have just flipped the p so it says Jeed, like the one on my toolbox :D

Nice John, replacing the 94?

Nice John, replacing the 94?

That was my original plan, but this will be Cindy's, and her 99 Limited will be the new trail rig. Still would like to replace the 94, but I don't need anything this nice for a work truck.

I did the usual used car inspection kind of thing and ensured nothing major was needing fixed. I replaced the worn out front shocks and steering stabilizer. John bought a set of Icon's I had at my lot and bought new tires over the phone at the Discount Tire by me. I got those mounted up for him and put on the jeep. Amazing what a good set of wheels, new rubber and shocks will do to eliminate death wobble. I replaced some blown front door speakers too so he'd have tunes for the drive. Took it to my favorite lube shop to have the fluids serviced for him as well.

John flew in Saturday afternoon. He bought us lunch, we got to catch up a bit and B.S. He and his new-to-him Limited are home now! Said it got 19.2 mpg on the drive to Illinois and gave him a smooth, trouble free ride.

Enjoy your rust-free XJ John! And thanks again for lunch!

Thank you, Troy!

The granddaughter likes it too, she helped me clean the thousand miles of bugs off it this evening...
