Bufalo Chipotle Sauce -
I use this stuff like catsup. Great! Nice after-bite, good smoky flavour, and not a "for the thrill" sauce - this is a geniune daily condiment whose use I heartily recomment for those who like food with kick! Goes on pretty much anything - fries, eggs, burgers, Wienerschnitzel, whatever.
Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce -
A lot of people talking about it here, and it's good. Thai. Less "flavour" and more "kick" - but it's still a good choice. Not as widely used as the Bufalo, but goes well on a number of things.
Dave's Insanity -
This one is for ****ing with people. I like it - but my entire GI tract seems to be lined with firebrick, or that stuff they make Space Shuttle ties from. One bottle lasts me years, but I do use it.
Great Red Shark -
Hawai'ian. Surprisingly good - in the same league as Buflao. Good flavour (not quite as smoky, but that's the difference between chipotle peppers and others - a chipotle pepper is a fully ripened and smoked jalapeno.) My son found this when he was on honeymoon in Hawai'i, and I need to order more.
Louisiana Supreme -
The label sez "Extra Hot," and it's serious about it! This one makes me slow down - which isn't bad for picking it up for fifty cents at Big Lots...
Satan's Sweat -
Just got a bottle of this at Armadillo Willy's. Not bad, based on habaneros, but still nice and smoky. Not as hot as the label leads one to believe (or maybe it's just me,) but I found it rather pleasant.
Of course, I'm a pretty odd duck anyhow...
Kajun Fire Sauce -
Cayenne base. Nice change - is different from the other peppers. Another Big Lots special (I think I paid a buck for this one.)
El Yucateco -
Another habanero sauce. Gotta admit, those Latinos do do peppers awfully well! I like this one (not as much as the Bufalo - I get Bufalo a half-dozen bottles at a time. But, EY is still good.)
Spontaneous Combustion -
Another habanero "thrill" sauce - this is one my wife's ex-husband got for me as a joke. Joke's on him - I love the stuff! I think Gary hurt himself trying it, he's still got his first bottle with a few drops missing (I'm on my sixth in the same timeframe.)
Arizona Gunslinger -
Yet another habanero - not quite a "thrill" sauce - I think it's got some chipotle in its makeup somewhere. Picked this one up at a burger joint near Flagstaff about a year ago, and haven't regretted it.
Wasabi -
Not typically regarded as a "hot sauce," wasabi is Japanese pickled horseradish. I use this stuff like mustard. It's not the easiest thing to find around here (oddly enough,) so I stock up when I see it.
I just wish I could find a decent Chinese hot mustard around here - most of what I've run into (including the various "house mustards") leave something to be desired.
So, what do you guys like? I'm always on the lookout for more!
