Horn Problems

So over the weekend my horn took a dump on me. The horn sounds like a cat being strangled. I found a ball looking object under my jeep on the passenger side but no such luck in figuring out what the problem is. Any Ideas?

Thats not the horn, that is the vacuum reservoir. The horn is right above that and you may have dual horns. If so there will be another on the opposite side same spot.

Use a test light to see if it has power to it while pressing the button,

If so go by the local AA or Oriellys and get a new horn and hook it up.

The horns on a 2000 are behind the plastic wheel well lining above the fog lights or where they would be if you had factory fog lights. They should look kinda like a black snail shell. If you found the vacuum canister then you should be able to see the horns just look a little farther behind that area and you should see a triangular bracket that is a brace and attached to that brace should be the bracket for the horn. If you had your Jeep in water very recently then you probably just have water in them and they need to dry out and they should be fine. Mine did this back in high school but they dried out after a few days.

Well it's going on day 3, how long should it take?

took me like a week or more

Same here... I had to move mine because of some fabbing, so now i get water in them every once in a while. Just let them dry and you should be fine.

Go get a horn out of an old Caddy.

Do you know what year caddy? I want some of them!
