Hood Years?

My hood has been in pretty rough shape since I bought the jeep, and my brother recently purchased an '88 Comanche. The hood on it is in excellent shape, no dings or dents. Any way this would fit on my '97? They looks identical, but who knows what they've changed over the years...

as far as I know... (I may be off on this) the 92+ years are all interchangable. I have a pre 96 hood on my 97 right now. and its an easy swap. Its even easier if you have a buddy to assist ya. I'd say get a replacement hood at a Junk yard. or just take it off - sand it - and re paint it

Nah it's pretty bent up, otherwise I would just repaint it. If it's that easy I may as well take half an hour and see if it fits.

I think it will fit, all of the XJ hoods look the same. I know they are all the same size. The only thing that changed for the front end of 97+'s was the front fenders and header panel, the hood remained the same design and shape.

84/86 is supposed to be different, I believe it only has a single latch. 87 to 96 are all the same,97 up are different in some minor way but I think they will fit 87 up also.
