Hood pins

I've been pretty frustrated with the hood release cable on the 1994 XJ. It's always been a pain to pop the hood, keep it latched, etc.

I just ordered these so I can fix all of these issues at once.

It looks pretty straightforward to install. I was going to use the poly units with clips but this looks a whole lot neater and it's not much more expensive. We will see how it turns out.

I saw that the other day. I thought about replacing my current janky pins with those.

I have them coming and I'll let you know what they are like. I have to get the two sizes of hole saws to cut the hood. My Father-In-Law may have them already, I just haven't asked yet.

The way I read it is you only need to cut a 1.5" hole.

They did a video on the install and they used two different size hole saws, the 1.5" on top and a 2.5" one on the bottom. They say this is required since the XJ hood has a inner and outer layer. The inner panel of the hood isn't flat in this area and won't let the bottom ring tighten up properly.
