Holy Crap its Cold!

- 10 this morning on base. We have a C5 Galaxy that ain't goin' no where.

-14 here this morning!! The heep started but the Walmart battery was struggling!! C5 is a big friggin plane!! I helped load a P3 wo/ wings into one when I was in Greece and directed him off the tarmac.............:patriot:

Damn cold....and I'm lovin' it!!

I bet you are! ;)

How many people calling you going; "My fuuuufuuuurnace isss nnnnoooot wooooorkkkkking, hhhoooooowwww mmmmmumumumuuuch yooooouuuuccchchchcarge?" :D

My poor heap did not want to turn over very easy either, damn cold, but we all should count our lucky stars we have very little humidity.

I remember when visiting some of my family in the flat land (Nebraska) with humidity and temps like today it did not matter what you wore the cold cut right through your clothes.........BRRRR!

Yesterday was cold as well so we stayed in all day and played Guitar Hero.............

Yeah, you know it's cold when the garage florescents won't turn on at all.

I'm hoping the radiator/block in the Truggy will be ok - I kept forgetting to check the antifreeze (or the lack there of) - I looked at it briefly in Moab and added water....... hope it isn't too diluted.

No preheat? Shit we get our lears going when it's a lot colder than -10.

I get off work at 2030 and the red jeep starts like it's no big thing. I have no idea why some cars start and some don't in the cold, the GF had a toyota that would freeze at about -5 or so if you didn't plug it in.

So glad im in... rainy(but warm) Southern California =D

It isn't the pre-heat. Buckley doesn't have a rig tall enough to de-ice that pig.

has anyone else had problems starting their jeeps is the really cold temps? a few mornings ago it was a little hesitant to start and this morning it was a really rough/slow start.
The Mrs said no problems this morn. I have replaced a lot of electrical in the three years we've owned it. The first things that went were the starter and cables, then I put in some red topped battery I've been sitting on. Past that I put in 10W-30 and keep it out of the wind. Maybe it's finally loosened up with the high miles??? :dunno:

Mine wouldn't start this morning. Redtop turned it over just fine, but no fire. I think there is water in the gas. It's been sitting with the same tank of gas since gas was $4.00/gal. Put a can of heet in it tonight. This is the only time in 16 years that it wouldn't start because of the cold.

It was around 60 degrees today where I'm at, just rained all day. Did I mention I'm in San Diego.

-7 when I left the house this morning... my 750 CCA from my redtop were screaming (moaning?) for help. Barely friggin turned over.

My red top finally gave up the ghost. I have been expecting it for a while, I actually had a new blue top in the trunk and swapped it in. Started right up. Battery cables get real stiff in the harsh cold!!!

It was like 70 yesterday and then BOOM down to 40 today. Brrrrrrr... :wierd:

Making purdy ornaments:

* Take baloon & blow it up.
* Cover with lubricant: oil, grease, ky, whatever.
* Take outside on a -20 day.
* With a mist bottle, spray water on it and watch it freeze instantly.
* Keep spraying until there's a thick coat of ice all over it.
* Slowly deflate the balloon & pull it out.
* Put Ice-ball ornament on wall.

* Repeat above steps about 20 times. Line up in a row.

* Get gun & go have fun. :D
