I picked up some never installed Naiper hood vents recently and am in the process of installing them. It’s typical to cut a big section (7” x 10”) of the hood out under the vents providing a whopping 70sq inch opening (per side).
the slits in the vent are approx 1/4” tall and 7” wide and there are 7 slits, this come to about 12.25sq inches for the air to escape.
So, instead of cutting the massive hole, I was thinking of drilling 10 1/2 or 9/16 holes under each row of opening in the vent. This would provide ~13sq inch to ~17sq inch of area for the air to escape out the vent making the restriction the vents.
Clearly I am overthinking this and I should just go to bed. But, I thought I would see if anyone has thoughts on this.
