My buddies 06 wrangler was overheating within 3 minutes of starting, idling in the lot (I watched it boil over as we were talking) After she cooled off we popped the cap and noticed the hole/crack just below the overflow. I told him to suck it up and drop in a all metal replacement. Is this a common problem? Just wondering, thanks guys.

common for a wrangler? common to overheat? or common to get a hole in the rad?

i would think its not very common for a 2 year old vehicle to overheat.

guess i wasnt too specific, sorry. Its stock under the hood, He likes mud, no rocks. Yes its under warranty, i told him he should clean it up and bring it to the dealership to see if they will cover it. I was specifically wondering if is common for the plastic to develop holes like this?

and thats why i paid extra money for a all metal radiator.

if its only 2 years old, it should definitally be covered.

yea, i've seen it a few times on plastic tanks on other cars.
