Hobbs, NM Anyone around there?

Hey guys, I'm deployed and my wife is staying in Hobbs while I'm gone. I've been there a couple times, and I can't say that I'm too impressed with the new neighborhood. Anyone with some insight into the area? Crime, favorite spots, cheapest groceries, that sort of thing? I know that NM is actually part of the IC but its right on the border with Texas so there should be somebody that knows the area.

Hello Eric, I am close! Hobbs is about 1.5 hrs from my loc. Crime? well they dont make the news around here very often. Fav Spots: 2 casinos in town, hunting, fishing, skiing, caverns,offroading, mountians all within a couple of hrs drive.
The bad would be the wind. Hope this helps. FL
