Hey Sierra MJs

Ok, does anyone want an 8.25 already set up for springover? It's still 3.55, open, pretty good brakes, RE perches and shock mounts. 27 spline. I also have another pair of 27 spl shafts that can go with it. Yeah it's no D44, but it can be built up better than a D35.

Yep, now I've got a spooled 4.88ed MJ D44 out back. 35s + 4.88s = fun to drive again.

Have you been cited by Davis' finest yet?

Not yet, but it hasn't even been a week yet. I'm sure I'll get to meet one of them by the end of the month for sure.

so how bad is it Phil? I'm gonna spool (weld :D) the rear axle in my MJ as soon as the snow melts off here a little more. Seems that since MJs are so light in the back it wouldn't be that bad.

How's the gearing? Is it perfect or just good? Mine will be on 35" MTRs with 4.88s too.

Well, I dunno, I'm still having fun gassing it around turns. Last night I was in the parking garage by Hickey gym, got onto it on a turn from one row to the next. It is SO good to have power again :D. I'm really happy with the 4.88s. I haven't noticed any pushing around turns, I think that's because the rear axle is so far back there. As far as tire wear, I'm probably not going to be able to notice much for a couple months.

How much longer are you in Michigan? Are you coming back to California? I'm orginally from Chicago and moved to Santa Rosa for 2 yrs, then moved back to Chicago to finish college & save $ living with my folks, now I bought a house in Citrus Heights. Where do you go wheeling besides the Badlands & the sand dunes? I've been to the Badlands 2 times, the 1st I sunk my wrangler in a mud/water and hydo locked my motor. The 2nd time I went with a new wrangler with 10+" of lift and 4.88 gears etc. and walked over just about everything. I've been bitten by the xj bug and now have that Wrangler for sale on ebay.

i'm in Michigan for school, it's my first year of 2. I'll be driving my MJ back to CA in May and spending the summer at my parents house in Grass Valley and hitting up the Rubicon and Fordyce many times. I haven't done any real wheelin out here, i've been wrenchin and building all winter and just have the goal of getting it done by summer. I'm not even going to bring my MJ back out here next year, the wheeling just doesn't even compare to out West, so i'll just focus on school and work and finish up next year and come back to Cali.

I think everyone in Davis has heard about BUIs, but I didn't know that they really did stop people for it. Damn.
