My favorite plate I ever got past the censors at the DMV was the one VA offered with a silhouette of a person playing the flute with FEL8 ME.
Also notorious around here are:
DMV SUX
and
VA GINA
both made the news last year because the computer censoring on-line plate purchases isn't all that bright, and the prisoners pressing them aren't likely to raise a fuss.
VA sells about a hundred or so "special interest" plates and as mentioned above, doesn't censor very well. You can get an "animal lover" plate that reads "FUKADOG", or a "children first" plate that reads "EATAKID" Want worse? A "Confederate Heritage" plate that reads "MASSA". Granted, natural selection may be at work here, for one day you will surely drive through the wrong neighborhood.
