Yup. While you were taking the pic of the t-case you could have noticed the tag (the Mopar one) saying 231.

cool, thanks for the confirmation, now i can begin ordering some stuff.
i did look at the tag, http://asjackman.netfirms.com/jeep/t-case_tag.jpg, it doesn't say anything about a NP/NV231.

It looks like a dealer eplaced the TC at some point since its a mopar replacement.
