Just need some opinions and/or pics to help me decide on either round or square driving lights for on top of the bumper on my 98. Ive searched and looked at pic posts, but just cant decide. BTW im looking at either hella 550's or 500's. Is it just a looks thing or is there a difference in light pattern?

Thanks!

My vote is for round. When I've got the cash I'm going out to get a set of Lightforce lights. I used to run KC 130 watt slims on my Dodge. I thought they were bright until someone pulled up to me with some lightforces. They're as bright as stadium lighting and can be focused :)

OMG this is not tech!

Not enough replies over on JU, this is way off topic, wrong forum buddy......... :pig:

modified, as in not stock lighting.... I fiqured it was a fine line.... there actually is a legit question there, but ya its kinda poser.

thanks for the replies anyways.

ju.... ya, i usually give it a shot. :(

Actaually round lights throw a better driving pattern than square do, exception being on low mounted fogs lights, rectangular throws a flatter wider beam thats more controllable/focusable. Comparison I base that on is that I have had E code CIBIE's, both rectangular in an 82 S10 and E code CIBIE's 7" rounds in my 69 willys custom. Owned both at the same time, the 7" rounds were better all round nite driving lights and the difference was very apparent when lined up on the long straight road in front of my house next to each other. The rectangulars did not light up as far as the rounds nor did they light up to the sides as well on low beam. Both were running the standard H4 65/55w bulbs... The high beam on the 7" rounds were lighting up almost twice the distance of the rectangulars.
For fogs, low down square, driving up higher and round. For fogs the further below the headlights you can get them the better they will be AS FOG LIGHTS.
I happen to use my fogs alot up here in the poconos where you can go around a corner and be in an early morning fog bank rolling off a field or rising from river/stream.

That makes sense to me, and was kinda what I was thinkin.

Your lift install thread is fine, But I wouldn't consider what shape fog light to get as modified tech........... :wierd:
Where else would he post this?
It sure isn't OEM tech.
It is for offroad, right? So not street performance tech.
Any aftermarket, non street performance, question belongs here.
