Help: KYB Shock Boots

I broke down and purchased a set of KYB shocks for my 89 Cherokee LTD.

This probably ranks right up there in the list of top 10 dummy questions, but the shocks come with rubber (or something) boots. Since I've never installed shocks with rubber boots before- Should I even use the boots or should I leave them off? If I should use them, is there anything I need to keep in mind when using the Zip Ties to secure the rubber boot the shock body (there are two zip ties per shock, do they both go on the bottom of the boot or one at the top, one at the bottom)? How far down the shock body should the boot be attached?

Thanks for bearing with me. :confused1

Yes, you should use them.

Do the top of the shocks have a "ring" where the shock boot slips over it? If so, then just use the zip-ties around the bottom. You can put the suspension in full droop and adjust the boot to fit that way.
