I just got my Yukon Gear 4.88T gears in the mail for my rear Dana 44. These are the thick gears to be used with the 3.73- case so I dont have to change carriers. Now... I was under the impression there would be no modification necessary to run the thick gears and that it would be just like any other gear install, but I just noticed there is a note next to the item description on my invoice from Randy's saying "....YG D44-488T (Must_ream_case_holes). This is a bit disconcerting to me as Ive never heard of this before and nothing was mentioned to me by the sales associate at Randys while ordering. Im comfortable doing the ol' driveway r&p install, and have done a couple before, but I as I said I am unsure what they mean by my having to ream the case holes. Anyone done this before? Any Advice? Anything I should know to be prepared before tearing into this?
Thanks in advance!
