hello folks, anyone know about Dayton NV?

Hi Folks,

I am new to Naxja and really enjoy the forum. Wondering if you all can tell me about Dayton Nevada?

Last few winters my wife and I take my XJ through NV and I have always wondered where that trail that goes past the cemetary in Dayton leads to. Looks like a nice drive assuming the weather is good.

We don't do hard core 4 wheeling but like drives in the hills none the less.

Has someone driven this road and can you tell me where it goes?

I emailed the Dayton historical folks in the museum there and they just shot me a reply that the offroad trail is a nice drive and goes to Virginia City over the mountains. They said there used to be a railroad system that ran specifically between Dayton and Virginia City.

This guy here at my work is named James Comstock who is now about 76 and is the great grandson of the man who founded the Comstock Lode in Virginia City.

I'll have to give that drive a try. Thanks Mrburns!
