Heater control valve?

I just eliminated the valve completely. I ran new heater hoses from the firewall straight to the water pump and t-stat housing. And plugged the vacuum line.

Don't bother using the renix valve as a sure thing. They suck too. I juts replace it when I need to. I need my heater during the winter time. I've been through 3 of them already and I haven't even put 10,000 miles on my jeep yet. It started to leak now and it's been sitting as a project for the past 2 years.

You're doing something wrong...I've had my Jeep for 70k-80k miles and have had to replace the heater valve once. :dunno:

I put my steel one in today and am going to toss the durmast plastic one in the trash...

Well what would cause them to leak. They always give right at the actual valve. The little lever starts leaking. I don't use the ac since it doesn't work so the valve never moves.

Ill take the one apart and see if I can see why they keep failing, but same thing here where it leaks out the the metal shaft.

Oh,but it does. Have a friend start the jeep while you watch the valve, they bleed down overnight.

I have replaced this valve once, aNd the PO replaced it once, yeah its a stupid part, but not enough of a problem to eliminate it.

Soon bro I got laid off right before Christmas. I can't even afford to pay attention. Had to move out of my house and everything. So far 2012 brings the suck. I got some rims for sale. Possibly go red money.
