Well that answers my question, haha! I've never been to any PAP (or whatever) so I have no clue what types of cars you might find there. I'm assuming in a place like LA there might be a bunch of Mercedes, BMW's, etc... that have body damage from the lousy drivers on their cell phones, but what do I know?

the yards mentioned on this forum are pretty much devoid of mercedes' cars, you might find 2 or 3 per yard, but its a very long shot unless you're looking for parts for a very common model.

one of the reasons cherokee's are cool, there is a LOT of them outthere, and they end up in the yards. For example wranglers dont end up at PAP, they goto specialty yards where the prices are skyrocketed.

i'd try to find a specialty yard, or maybe ebay. depends on the part.

what kinda mercedes is it?

dont forget the torx!

its embarassing how many times i forget stuff like that.

I just got back from Santa Fe Springs Ecology. Cash for Clunkers brings them in.
There were a few late model Cherokees, one was a 2001
There were several V8 Grands for front springs and H.D. track bars, one, an "Orvis" has factory front tow hooks.

It took me an hour and a half to go through the check out line . . .

Just got back from the Chula Vista one, holy crap there were a lot of new XJs there, including this rare 4-door Classic Convertible.

Heck a ton of Exploders and ZJs too. Unfortunately I only found 1 XJ to my knowledge that had a tow hitch I wanted, and guess what, it was on the ground.
I also found a couple ZJs with tow hooks and skid plates even though they wouldn't work, however I'm not sure if the hooks themselves would work. I was a good and only took two, I didn't hoard them. Although I really wanted to hoard all the fender flares I could but I already have enough I think, plus I'm getting tired of replacing them so I'll probably take them off.
Oh well, Eco seems to have higher prices than PYP, and next weekend it's their half off weekend so I'm hitting it up for that hitch.

I really wish they would have a price list somewhere, either online or at the place. There were lots of other odds and ends I needed such as fog lights, headlights, flares would've been good, etc.
