I am thinking about making a 4 door Comanche out of my 87 MJ and 89 XJ. My 89 XJ has great drivetrain and runs great, but the body is rough. My 87 MJ is near perfect body wise, but the engine(2.5L) is not right.
I would like to cut the Cherokee through the rear door opening and cut the MJ through the door opening and put the two together. I would have to modify the rear doors and streach the drive shaft. I know there would be a ton of work involved, but I have a great shop and all the tools needed.
What I am wondering is has anyone else done this? If so, any pictures or web sites?
The Jeep is not my current daily driver and so time would not be a big factor.
