Gun-metal black?

A friend of mine recently volunteered to teach me to paint cars, so of course I was up for it. I want to paint my YJ gunmetal black (slightly shiny, not gloss or matte) since it's smaller than the XJ's (less paint) and I think the yellow makes it way too cheerleader-esque. I know that this color is possible by mixing paint deadener into black paint, but I don't know what kind to use or how much. Does anybody have any thoughts or suggestions?

If you want it to be semi-gloss, you'll have to add the flattener into the clear. Almost all companies have a line of flattener, and the ratio's to make 60%, 25%, matte, etc etc. Read the tech sheets, they are your friends.

Thanks! I thought it was called paint deadener so that must be why my search didn't work.
