Just bragging a little

while I find myself at the start of my mid-life crisis, I do not have the chest hair or gold chains that would allow me entry to the Corvette owners group, so I bought something faster

2004 Stohr
1300cc Hayabusa (Suzuki) bike motor approx 180HP in stock trim, 10 600 rpm redline (12 600 for the race motors)
car weighs about 900 lbs, 1075 lbs minimum weight with a driver
pushrod, double A arm suspension
Ohlins shocks, 500lb front 650 lb rear springs
twin tunnels and large rear diffuser
Stack electronic dash, and data aquisition
8 gal fuel cell allows approx 75 minute run time, most races are about 40 minutes.
Depending on gearing, this will approach 160 mph at the end of the straight at Pueblo

so if anyone needs a low mileage, only driven on Sunday's by an old lady, Mini Cooper S, contact me. I'll offer $500 off to NAXJA members.

So the rock crawler will be forgotten for a while until I find the funds to finish it. Slight possibility I can make Moab in Oct, depending how my trip to the Singapore Formula One race works out.

And for Led - yes I paid for the new toy in Krugerrands.

Care to summarize your racing career with the Mini? How'd you make out the last 2 years?

When I first read that I thought Indy, as in Indianapolis - doh! (rumored to be the future home of the SCCA Runoffs)

6 Divisional wins in G Stock
top 10 driver in the region 2005 2006
podiums in San Diego, Fontana, Denver, and Wendover

better results as the car owner / race engineer though

2005, 2006 Colorado Ladies Overall Champ
17 wins at National or ProSolo events
3rd 2005 National Champs G Stock Ladies
2nd and 3rd 2006 ProSolo Championship G Stock (by a single point, on the last run of the season, we lead the whole year, 2nd sucks)
1st and 3rd 2006 SCCA National Championship G Stock and I engineered the car that came 2nd that year too

Sold the 2005 Mini, still have the 2003 Time Trial Mini for sale

I'll probably make a seat insert for the new car if Carol wants to drive the new beast. We use her Suby STi for local autocross events we attend, and for ice racing in winter. She drives the Mini at the track sometimes, and we keep fit over winter in our karts (125cc Rotax TAG)

Looks like a bunch of fun, and a new class to dig into and see what you can do.

How much does something like that cost?

Think you could put some headlights, tailights, and turn signals on it and go carve up some snobby Porsche owners on the mountain passes. :)

Cost usually depends on the spec of the car. The newest Stohr WF-1's can easily approach $100K, and the winner at Runoffs last year spent $60K on motors through the season.

My car is a generation older, and no longer competitive on the National scene. It did win it's class at the NASA Nationals in 2006, but was beaten in 2007 by the factory Radical team, running a custom 2.3 liter V8 making 400 plus HP.

We really scored on a low ball offer to the previous owner, two cars, and the complete spares package for $60K. The cars are probably worth in the region of $40K - $45K each.
 
damn, thats a lot. want to send me detailed pictures and measurements so i can clone it?
