Does NAXJA have a site that is more for the Grand Cherokee's, or can someone help out with some links for Air intake and Exhaust performance, and maybe something with a supercharger?

Looking for someone else.

TIA :geek:

If it's a 4.0L grand, the same things that work on a 91+ XJ 4.0L work on a grand too.

you can also look into dodge trucks for performance options for the 5.2/5.9 (something to broaden your information horizons)

I dunno of the 4.7 was used in anything else, but I'm sure that it was/is

Here's my list of mods from the sticky HP gains thread in the Speed Freaks section of the JU forum:

5.2 V8 (Factory ratings 220hp@4400rpm/300lbft@3200rpm)

1. K&N FIPK: 13hp
2. Mopar ECU: 16hp
3. Kolak 3" catn'back exhaust: 13hp
4. Mike Leach headers/Y-pipe: 14hp
5. Autolite 3924 plugs: 3hp
6. Ported TB: 7hp/10lbft
7. Electric fan + ASP crank underdrive pulley: 8hp/9lbft
8. Speedtweaks IAT adjuster: 8hp

With the above mods, output should be about 295-300hp. Now the big stuff:

9. Mopar 2bbl MPI intake: 25hp/1lbft
10. Magnum R/T Stage 2 heads + CompCams 254HR-12 hydraulic roller camshaft + 1.7 roller rockers: 95hp
11. Vortech supercharger 89hp/65lbft over stock
12. 390ci stroker engine 215hp/190lbft over stock 5.2
13. Nitrous Express kit 50-150hp over stock

No problem.

Does all the Grand Cherokees have the AL D44 diff case, or just certain years?

My 98 4.0 has the D35.

What I ment was, in some of the D44 on the GC, the diff is made out of aluminum. Is that all years or just some?

Those GCs that have D44s from the factory have Aluminum center sections.

People complain that it's got C clips... The same people running around with D35's with C clips. Pretty funny.

From the reputable sources I've been talking to the ALD44 is stronger than the D35c but not as strong as the D44. Overall, it's better but not best!

This is HIGHLY debatable.

Around 1999 DC actually threatened to cancle ALL Dana-Spicer's contracts and bring in another company to make axles, all because of problems with the aluminum D44 that DC had demanded. The housings are so weak that several shipments of them bent on the storage racks at the factory just from their own weight.

The 1999 WJ FSM tells you not to jack the rear of the vehicle with a single floor jack under the diff, because the weight on the ends of the tubes will warp the center housing.

Better than a D35? I disagree. That aluminum D44 imposter is a far bigger POS than the D35 could ever hope to be. Been there, done that, got the tee shirt.
