Goverment shutting down?

Wow I just found out, that although my department wont be shut down, the people that pay us will be. We get our pay from the Dep. of Ag. So great we are expected to work, we will be paid, but we may not get paid on time!

Suck.

To build on Coloradoraptor's point... I am an absolute HATER of the party system. We pretty much have the "bloods" and the "crips" running the country. The party system in and of itself is unconstitutional IMO. Sure there are smaller parties out there, but if they don't have power they don't mean $hit.

Why exactly doesn't an ALL independant political system work? Surely not all members of one party have the exact same view on EVERYTHING.

because 98% of the American population has been made sheeple, and wish to be told what to do, who to hate, and why it isn't their fault. And not to worry, the government will take care of _________ problem, and someone else will pay for it.

It pretty much boils down to,you can only depend on your self ,cause when hard times get here ,the gubermint sure as hell won,t be any help.Which deeply saddens me .

although this is rediculous and all. i hope it teaches a lesson to some younger soldiers and the like to stop living paycheck to paycheck and start saving. thankfully i have plenty of savings and will weather this storm for quite some time if i must. you are the only one person that you can depend on......

When you are a young soldier and married it difficult to save much money. they aren't really overpaid

i joined the army, as a private, married and expecting a child. we don't make a lot, but we do make enough to put some in savings, but when that "gauranteed" pay comes twice a month, young soldiers tend to start making poor financial decisions. i have seen it, and have had to personally counsel some of my junior soldiers on the issue on many occasions.
