im not a fan of chains on my jeep, I use straps for it and damn near anything else I haul. only time I use chains/binders is for heavy equipment machines. ive heard some states have different laws on wether to use straps or chains. ive never had a problem with properly setup straps. check out mac's tie downs, seems to be to go to place for vehicle straps.

The straps versus chains and axles versus frame tie down is so beat to death.
Theres many ways to do it, personally i prefer chains and ratcheting binders, on the axles, however i am considering a strap on both bumpers just to keep the suspension from bouncing all around as well.

Nice trailer, whatsthe weight rating?
Thats what i do, chains and binders to the axles, and straps to the bumpers to take the sway out.

7500 gvwr
wish it was 10k but, itll be okay for one jeep

looks good. the wheel wells look strong.

is that the rest spot on 84?

and dont forget that 7500# is before you factor in the weight of the trailer. so Im guessing it weighs about 2000#. so it will hold about 5500#. which is enough for the jeep, but kind of close.

Exactly why I wished it was a 10k and yea the wheel wells will support some weight, im gunna build some wood ramps the shape and height of the fenders

Just gotta fix a break in the wiring so I have trailer brakes before I tow the jeep on it

And it's a rest stop out by Elmira on 17, I bought it up in the finger lakes,I live in Binghamton now.
