I need (desperately!!) a replacement stereo mounting bracket for my 92 XJ! Anybody have one?? Gladly pay you for it... let me know or e-mail to [email protected].
actually, NO.... I've seen MANY of them they only have a very THIN pressed metal sleeve that is PITIFUL - I spoke to installers who told me that due to it's specialized nature - I have to get it at the dealer - but the dealer says they don't stock it - doesn't have a part number! So it's a salvage issue for me.
Are you talking about the metal piece that supports the back of the unit? Installers should have that, or HVAC even. I can't think of the name right now but "plumber's tape" comes to mind. Just a metal tape with holes down the center, right?
Yeah, I think you're thinking along the right lines... but if you used a metal strap, you'd have to get WAY up in there with a drill, etc... which would suck! The factory bracket tabs into the sheet steel receiver that's already there and then you screw the flanges of this piece onto the unit.
