Google earth

I joined another forum and they have a very cool feature with Google earth

They use it as member maps. All members (if they choose) just update there profile with there location. The feature is listed in the User CP. You just zoom in till you find your home and place a small icon there. So you can see all the members in your area. When you scroll over an Icon that a member has placed. It shows there avatar and handle. If you click on it, it then brings there profile up and a way to PM them. I thought this was a very cool feature.

I would love to see this integrated into our Forum.

Ofcourse it would be on a volunteer basis.

id be in for it, sounds like a cool idea, and a good way to see how close other members are to you.. maybe make it viewable by red names only?

Yeah when I saw it I couldnt help but think how awesome this would be on with our huge user base.

yeah this would be awesome - plus i am always looking for local help and offering local help and maybe a trail ride... i think this would only benefit the memebership and help keep naxja memebers in touch

The BOD is currently working on more pressing issues, including some discussion about upgrading the forum software we are running. I can assue you that nothing like this will be implemeted on our site until our forum software is up-to-date.

Nothing is planned yet, but the forum software needs to be updated to one the newer versions eventually, and that is what is being discussed currently.

Well that is for the Bod to do but they are still too busy I guess. Something with a software update or what not. Maybe one day.
