Good score yesterday

Took a little roadtrip up to VA yesterday...picked up some new old junk for my junkers: a C4x4 winch bumper for the trail rig and a AW4 tranny & 97+ nose panel for my 2x4 MJ project rig.

Kudos to (longtime Member) Tom Longman and Lloyd Morris for braving the wintery nip for the linkups. It was great to meet y'all & thanks!

I had a fun ride home through the frozen tundra Hit the snow coming back through Richmond, and stayed with it in 4WD all the way home. Note to self...putting tranny on a garbage bag in the back was unwise. It'd sometimes get to sliding around and take the Jeep's arse end with it All the extra weight was a plus though...

Glad to hear you made it back safely. The weather certainly did get interesting here last night. I hope you have as much luck with the transmission as I did. It served me well through the XJ's first 14 years. I do remember it had a small drip from the rear seal before I replaced it though and you may want to look at that while it's still on the bench. Otherwise it was just another reliable AW4.
