ok so im sure a few peole have seen some pics of my stock jeep... nothing special... I've always ran 30x9.5 BFG a/t's, with the factory steelies painted black...
Well ... not anymore!!!
I purchased Five factory Jeep Rubicon MOAB 16x8's from Jayson(Jasonc on the forums) of Rock Your 4x4 (www.rockyour4x4.com) for $150... needless to say it was an excellent deal
My girlfriend and I drove from VA Tech to Knoxville last Saturday and picked up the wheels and saw Jayson's shop... some very nice Jeeps down there with some very nice gear that Jayson has equipped them with!!
Back in good ole' Giles VA, we used aircraft stripper and stripped the wheels down to bare metal. Afterwards, we applied a coat of etching primer and filled in any imperfections.
The MOABS were then taken to the Greensboro Auto Auction(biggest in the country) and sprayed with Sherwin Williams watercolor automotive Gloss Black, and then had the bejesus cleared outta them.... the results were some very nice, shiny, deep black Rubicon Moab Wheels
In the process we also acquired 4 free Brand spankin new Goodyear Wrangler Rt-s 265/70/16's (dont ask
)
anywho, i knew it was gonna be a tight fit, so i trimmed the corners of all the flairs, and i removed the front Corners/Fender liners.
Now it is nice and driveable, I dont scrub under normal driving conditions... this is a stock suspended Jeep btw....
It does need a 2" or so lift, and that is coming very soon, but for now... I'm extremely Happy
PICS!!!
a couple of snips of plastic... a couple of taps with a big ole' mallet.. and only $270 dollars later...
