Gilmer, Tx., Barnwell Mountain

might be better to just bring a 2wd pickup

Mark, you have me all fawked up!! I love it.

How about this?

I'll pick you up in the front in my heated truck, I will then drive you to the camp, by the huge camp fire, then I will have a tent set up for you with a bunch of blankets, I might even fire up the generator and plug in an electric blanket for you.

You can have the passenger seat in my xj, which means you have to do all the gunt work for me when i get stuck or broke and if you don't like the fact that that my xj doesn't have a heater or windows or doors then you might be able to hitch a ride with some that has those amenities.

If you don't like that idea, you can be the camp cook by the huge fire all weekend. You provide the meals.

Personally, I like you being the cook idea the best. JK

I have to say that I am one confused mofo right now. I have no idea what the hell you drive for a trail rig and why whatever it is that you would bring won't make it to the far camp. Please explain to relieve my headache. :banghead:

He has a jeep thats capabilities are a wee bit beyond barnwell, or so he thinks :D. He pulls it with a huge friggin motorhome which would prevent him from getting to old camp.

Mark, you have to post some pics of this tow vehicle and your xj/mj (I don't know) so I can see why ramsey seems to think you have a big head. I am now curious to see. The least you could do is that since you have me all screwed up in the head.

I must say that women always get my mind messed up (my wife) but, never has a man. You are a man aren't you? With all the "I might freeze!" and "I can't sleep if the temp is below 65." one might wonder. lol

If your capabilities are beyond Barnwell, where do you go around here?

Thats funny, Mrs. Hinkley.

Let me know when you go to Clayton. I have not been there. I plan on going in april or may sometime. It is also a park? I would like to go check out.

More of a town with a few differsnt areas to wheel. All pay to play though, so I guess they are parks.

OK!

hell yeah, lets go to clayton

For those of you that plan to go to Barnwell anytime, I just found out that they are no longer open on thursday evenings. They open friday mornings at 8:00 am now.

As an update, there will be 15-20 people showing up this weekend. It will be alot of fun. There will be everything from stock pick ups to my xj to atv's and motor cycles. As far as I know everybody is camping on site.

Contact me if you plan to make this next weekend (friday dec 2nd - sun dec. 4th). Pm me or (817) 891-1173. Thanks, Sam.

doesnt look like i'll make it. some people and i are running up to hot springs more than likely that weekend.

only a helluva lot better. they actually have real rocks www.orvpark.com great place to go.

Not gunna make it. Axle swap isn't gunna be done in time. Plus, I'd rather test out the new rear end at a worthy wheelin' spot. I've heard Gilmer has gotten pretty nasty since the hurricanes hit though. Oh well, I hate that red dust.

Sorry I did not post earlier. There were about 20-25 people show up through out the weekend. We had an absolutly awsome time, from the fall colors to the carnage, and the weather was outstanding.

I did not get many action pics but, here's what I got.

Broken axle on a yj that rolled all the way to the bottom of the hill when he was about 10 ft from the top.

Heave 33'' tire. It took a while to find it. We lost it in the dark on the way down.
