Gilmer May 30th?

I am... but sadly I will not be able to make it. Its getting close to time for the new little XJer to be here.

I was actually thinking about Superlift, but I might could change my destination to Gilmer just to have some good company to wheel with.
 
Control has given me a GO for launch. We're heading out Friday afternoon and will pack up Saturday afternoon. We're still deciding on camping vs. hotel. It will be me, the wife, and all 3 kids (ages 13, 5, and 1).

If anyone else decides to go, PM me your cell number and I'll shoot you mine to help us hook up on-site.

Also, I'll be up and running on Channel 14 when I hit the park.
 
I'm thinking about it. I will let you know for sure tomorrow. I gotta make sure the Jeep is ready.

Last weekends plan to run Katemcy didn't work out so well for me. My fan clutch went out in traffic and the truck overheated and that was just the beginning of my problems.

Everything seems sorted out now though.

So Chris is in, ExTankerGuy is in?, and BMuu35 is a possible..... I am still pondering. It really depends on whether my wife will give up the Hot Springs trip in favor of Gilmer. This might be a tough sell. LOL
 
I don't have to be talked into it. Its merely a day trip for me (a little over an hour away), however my wife will be giving up a hotel stay, spa visit, and day at Magic Springs that she would have gotten in Hot SPrings. LOL It will actually save me some money (hotels, spas, magic Springs), plus I have some free passes to Barnwell as well.
 
So we decided to camp. However, being that I'll have 2 females with me, I'd really prefer a campsite with a port-a-potty that doesn't require a jeep trip to access. So, that said, I'm think Old Camp is the best bet. We've been pretty dry the last few weeks (a big blow or two, but nothing that dumped too much rain on us) so the major issue with that camp is negated.

Anyone else planning on camping? Opinions? Options?

Okay, change in plans. We're gonna say screw the camping and stay at a hotel. So, I'll give you a shout Saturday Morning so we can hook up and hit the trails.
 
I will probably be down there, most likely will have a TJ and JK tagging along with me.
 
Sorry guys, doesn't look like I will be making it. My friend who was towing his vehicle down there broke down on the way. My transmission is still acting up, sometimes unlocking the Torque converter randomly while on the highway and I didn't want to get all the way out there and not have a way home.

I really wanted to go, maybe next time.

Hopefully I can get the tranny working right today, Im sure its just electrical since I can manually shift it fine, so far I have done the TPS, and brake switch. Now I need to check the selenoids and the VSS.
 
Good times had all around. I had a bit of carnage, though. :(

We were coming down Whatever and I got into a bad line without realizing it. I started to feel the back end coming over so I goosed it to get back under the roll. Unfortunately, that bounced me down on my side a bit, though I stood it back up pretty quick. It was enough to bust my drivers side window (right through the door frame...the window was rolled down) and I blew the bead on my front passenger tire. We threw on the spare and kept trucking, though it was enough to make me decide to take it easy the rest of the day. :)

This is where I started to get in trouble.
