Getting ready for build

I got the daughter off to college for three months so I am gathering parts for the build. I'm going for a tough trail rider not necessarily a rock crawler. Captain America will also be used to tow a teardrop style trailer. That said I want another lift kit with the long arms. Anyone got a favorite? Also I was exploring on the stroker site again but couldn't find the recipe for the budget stroker. Anyone have build info for that?

Update on the check engine light. I found platinum plugs installed so changed them. Also bought a new gas cap. Got it smogged and licensed. On the way to Idaho my daughter said the light came back on. No sweat off my back, it's good for two years!

My 98 has an intermittent CEL because of the battery voltage sensor. Just scan it and figure out the code.

As for the LA kit. I'll be running the Rusty's competition 4-link on mine. I've ran the TNT y-link setup before and really liked it, I just wanted something different. The BDS 4-link my buddy ran seemed really nice too.

Clayton for 3 link, serious for radius.

Both are NAXJA supporters, but the TNT setup places the y-link mounts up inside the frame rails. Thusly it has more clearance. For just the long arm upgrade itself you'll save about 250$ on the Serious setup though. You can't go wrong either way, it's all in what you want. FWIW, the majority of long arm kits place the mount under the frame rail and do just fine.

TNT also has more room so people with high backspacing don't rub the LCA due to the bend in the LCA and the further in mounting points.
TNT also does not use weld in bungs but instead each arm is tapped prior to cutting and welding of the other end.
TNT has a much larger skid plate and a super beefy crossmember when compared to a 2x4 box tube just based off of torsional rigidity due to the multiple bends and reinforcement gussets in the crossmember and skid plate.

For a Cherokee though, both kits are going to outlast the jeep in strength and are both great decisions when it comes to bolt on kits.

My "competition" 4-link from Rusty's has the lower control arms mounting under the frame rails. I'm not worried about it. A buddy of mine is running it with 35's and isn't having any issues. He's pretty happy with it too. The big things I wanted was a separate crossmember so I could do any required drivetrain maintenance without also having to drop my suspension, and a 3 or 4 link front. That's why I chose the one I did.
