Get out and Vote.

I know a lot of bleeding-heart Patriots may disagree...

...but if you are ignorant of your candidate's stances on ALL of the issues, please don't vote.

It's not fair that an un-educated vote is weiged the same as that of someone who did their homework and it casting the right vote for the right reasons. :) Educate yourself first.

I've been following the elections very closely and usually vote for the most conservative as they are usually more in line with my way of thinking, that being said I was set to endorse Fred Thompson but, with him dropping out I voted for Romney and truly believed that he would do the best job of running this country. With his withdrawl (he lost alot of the evangelical christian votes due to his being Mormon), it now looks like Mc Cain will get the nomination and he was actually the last guy I would have picked (he is almost as liberal as the democrats on alot of issues) however, not voting for him (alot of true conservative feel the same way) would almost assure Hillary or the other knucklehead, Obama the Whitehouse so come election day, it is very important to get out there and vote! Even if you don't like Mc Cain, not voting would be a vote for the opposition. If you haven't noticed, I am a staunch Republican as I hope anybody that owns guns and loves the freedom of offroading is, also--------Hans

Wow Hans, I think you read my mind. For a few minutes this week I decided I was going to give up on this whole pres. campaign(and voting) until I realized how important it is to keep those two lying, socialist pieces of crap out of the white house. My vote will be against someone, not for.

im voting the same way i do multiple choice tests, the magic method.

abacadaba all the way down! A B A C A D A B A

:shhh:

just kidding!!!

i dont vote cause i dont care. i dont have time to learn all about senator fuckstick, or representative coknballs.. i work 6 days a week 9 hours a day. i count on all you SOBs that have time to pay attention to vote on my behalf :D

voting is for the informed, not the general public... doesnt make sense to me. how about national learn about who you're voting for day.... or "here's a brochure, check it out" day. what about people without cable? they dont deserve to know what is going on?

ugh. i just think the whole system is fucked. in an ideal society everyone would have all the info available to them and make an informed decision.... but that's not how it works. from what i can guesstimate about 40% of the GP knows something about who they are voting for, the rest just feel like they are obligated to vote, to serve thier country.. abacadaba!!!!!

:(

Huckabee.......he was the spoiler in the primaries, people that would probably have voted for Romney (evangelical christian conservatives) ended up voting for him. He believes, quite niavely, that we could make an ally out of Iran, which has spoken of wiping Isreal of the face of the earth and dreams of a world with no United States of America! I have no doubt that they ARE working on nukes and ways to deploy them.....maybe even someday against us! Do you really want that guy as president? Besides, he dosen't stand a chance against Mc Cain who, has already pulled in a considerable amount of delegates, outdistancing him by a wide margin. I can't say it enough...VOTE! Have a say in the direction that this country is headed! God Bless America!----------Hans

That's where you and I are going to have to disagree...

I'm a Christian, and I read the bible. I'm not sure of anybody elses faith but if you've ever read the book of Revelations it would scare the living hell out of you. That book talks about the final war, and the holy land. Us being in Iraq is STRICTLY for strategic positioning towards Iran, which with you, I agree we'll never make allies with, but I also don't think we need to instigate problems with them. China has already stated that if we attack Iran they're coming after us. Iran is China's major oil supplier, and China needs them to keep operating. That would be world war 3.

McCain is also what I'd classify a faux republican. He's not a real republican, and he's going to continue EXACTLY as Bush has. He's pro NAFTA which is a disaster just waiting to happen. It's going to be the end of this country IMHO. We need a president who is going to SHUT OUR BORDERS DOWN, and protect us from another 9/11. Having an open border policy isn't going to do that. McCain has only RECENTLY started talking about being anti illegal immigration... which is BS. He's supported Bush in his open border policy for a LONG time. Huckabee is completely, and always has been, against illegal immigration. And to FIX the problem not just bandage it, he'd like to reduce the time it takes to become a legal citizen.

McCain also thinks our Economy is in a better state now than it was in 2000... Do you really want a president that stupid?

He wants to loosen restrictions on cell phone taps
He voted no to same sex marriage in '96 then later voted YES to allow it
He's PRO CAFE standards, which is BAD for us in Ca
He's Pro-NAFTA, pro-GATT, pro-MFN, pro-Fast Track
Voted YES on increasing minimum wage to $7.25. (Feb 2007)
Voted NO on raising the minimum wage to $7.25 rather than $6.25. (Mar 2005)

He sure flip flops a lot

As far as on the home front, He's anti assault weapons ban, and pro offroader and hunter etc. Which is awesome, but sometimes I have to consider other things like free trade policy and foreign policy. Both of which scare me to death. However, being pro gun and pro offroader/hunter doesn't mean squat, Bush was too, and look what happened, they now want to microstamp all my ammo. Yea right...

I'll be voting for Huckabee, I don't need a Bush Jr. Jr.

And... he's also Anti union... which is idiotic. Unions MADE this country.

Me being in a union is the only way my wife can stay home and raise our daughter. I hate anti-union crap. My company has been union almost all of its 50 something years and is doing just fine. Unfortunately our pro-union candidates or a danger to this country in every way.

Jim, that's cool, I agree that Mc Cain is a RINO (republican in name only) and I don't like his stand on alot of issues but, if it comes down to him or Clinton or Obama are you not going to vote for him because Huckabee didn't make the ticket? If Huckabee gets the nomination, which I honestly don't see happening, I WILL vote for him (he is a good honest person) even though his ideas about Iran scare me. I believe the bad guys in the middle east are watching this election to see how it comes out.....if the democrats take the Whitehouse, they're talking about pulling our troops out right away leaving the door open for all this crap to start up again. I believe our continued presence there is what's kept them from hitting us again here at home.......at least we're for the same party. Vote with your conscience--------Hans

GrimJeeper...I agree whole-heartedly. You and I would probably get along pretty well! :)

As for the "flip flopping"...their POLITICIANS. Their JOB is to flip flop. Tell the public what they want to hear before they are elected, then serve their personal and vesterd interests AFTER they are elected. You should know how this works by now! Besides, with all the checks and balances, the President is 50% figurehead anyhow. If a candidate promises nothing but change once they're in office, your BS Meter should be off the scale.

Im gona rant a little so please dont mind me

I hate our choices for president and even worst are our local choices for county. Id like to line all the canidates up and shoot them all one at a time explaining why I cant vote for them. on a county level our little town has set up a CSD (comunity services district) its basicly local folks taking care of local issues like water and roads and lighting etc nothing hard core or policy setting but some important stuff for a small budding community to get right. it took 11 years of jumping through hoops with the state government to set up the csd and it still needed to be voted in which is fine it passed with 95% aproval no big deal but then you had to vote for 5 board members and only 7 people were running. 5 of the people running were involved since day one of the set up of the csd all the way back from the inital letter to san bernardino asking for a feasability study. one is a local resident who frankly moved up here 3 years ago and ever sence has tried to stall the csd's progress and one other is a hydroligest from san diego who owns a home here but admitadly only has spent a few nights in it since he bought it in 01. I know most of the people running personally including my father who chaired the commity and I actually tried to talk with the 2 new people the hydroligest and the nay sayer but basicly got nada form those two. I couldnt even get them to return a phone call even though both of them claimed to be 100% accesable by the votors for questioning. now after the election is over and results are in the board for our csd is comprised of one person who doesnt live here, one person who stood firm against the csd's creation and 3 people who have for as long as I can remember have done the best in service for our community. 2 very responsible helpfull and community minded people lost in the election by single diget votes and 2 people who dont belong there will have seats on the board for 4 years.
