Yeah so I just found this geocaching thing and my gf's boy and I love it!! I most say if you have kids this is a great way of getting out of the house and having some good old fun. you don't need a GPS all you need is a cell phone, thats all I needed . Its fun and cheep but I know that when he goes to school this week all he is going to talk about is how much fun he had hunting for all those cache's. not only that but for me I just moved out to Akron, OH with in the last three weeks and don't know where everything is and this really helped me. but any way I just wanted to say how much me and the boy had doing this and if you are looking for something to do with your kids. this is it. and to top it all off I found a green jeep. "it made my day!"

I love caching. Sadly to say but my caching habit is slowly taking over my wheeling habit. Lets me see more places and it's something that eveyone enjoys.

It doesn't have to overtake it. Do both. I have placed several caches in some of my favorite wheeling areas and found many more.

I was into it for a while. When I started I was totally amazed at how many caches were practially right in my own back yard. I found all of those. My habit came to an end when the price of gas went nuts. I hadn't used my GPS for several months and needed cash to fuel my XJ habit, so I sold it. I do regret getting rid of it. I had an Etrex Legend, it worked great for me.

Weird, I just checked out that website and there is a couple of Caches really close to me. There is one on the beach that I work at during the summer, and I have apparently driven right past it without knowing it. I'm waiting for my confirmation email to be sent so I can see the details about some of these areas.

For anyone wondering if the annual subscription to geocaching.com is worth it, I would absolutely recommend it if you're going to get into it in any sort of serious way. Features like being able to find caches along a route, uploading of routes, and improved cache searching really do make a huge difference. The $2.50/month investment pays for itself in convenience alone.

yeah I found the jeep and that is what got me in to it for good. The only thing is my gf's 5 year old now has a new jeep. " it didnt get to a new cache" but it puts a big smile on his face so what can I do? thanks everyone for the info.
