Guys, I am throwing this out there for anyone who is bored on the 5th of Dec. (Saturday) A friend mentioned he was coming over to see if I could help diagnose a noise on his Discovery, but has since found the noise (I think?). However, the notion of hanging out in the garage and enjoying a few adult (or regular) beverages still seems like a good idea although there wont be much work going on. So, we will be out in the garage about 12:30 - 1pm (until whenever) pointing and grunting at things, BS'ing, and if enough folks show up, I may get some help to flip my Off-road trailer project over so I can start on the suspension and other bits on the bottom the following week.

BYOB for the most part, although I usually have a few extra beers and cokes etc. If enough folks want to come over, I can see about getting some pizza or chicken wings. Just depends on how many say they will be here. I have also have enough poker tables, chips and chairs for (up to) a 16 person poker game to break out should the need arise.

My address for those who havent been here:

yer killing me....this weekend is out.....We've got a "Sleep In" at the McWane Center with the 6yr old lil dude on Friday night.....Sat at 12 we've got a Fresh Air Family hike at Desoto State Park, Ft. Payne, AL, for "Winter Fair houses and Hobbit Hike, Children's Nature Observations skills" with the kids....and I'm thinking about Morris Mtn Trails for Tots on Sunday..... Bad weekend. How about the next weekend?? I could bring over the XJ and we could have a rear fender welding/rebuilding party?
You still interested in that HP D30 with 4.56's? Maybe I could find a trailer....

Next weekend works way better for me too (if I have my axles in by then). Sounds like a fun road trip up. Im always looking to meet more of you guys here on naxja. That D30 will fit in the back of your XJ Andy. I got my 8.8 home from the JY in the back of mine.

Well shucks...

The next weekend could work, the only thing I have going on is a Christmas party that my wife and I are supposedly going to that Sat. night. Depending on when you guys get here Sat morning, that would work just fine. Andy, I am DEFINITELY still wanting the axle for sure.

Here is the dumb part... I was just in Birmingham this weekend (all day saturday), with my trailer, helping my sister in law move. I didnt even think about getting up with you guys. Didnt even occur to me. Sorry....

This weekend will be a BS session (although another Discovery owner wants us to swap in a new starter now, starting to be a trend with the Disco's), but next weekend could easily be a work session.

Let me know what you think. Andy, I have plenty of extra steel sheet now for your fenders too.... I bought 4 full sheets (5' x10') of it for my trailer, and will have more than enough extra. Honestly after that, its going to have to be after the first of the year since the weekends are filling up with the holidays.

We don't have any plans as of yet, so I will say we will be there 90% for sure.

Hmmmm, 3.5 hours one way. I need to see if I can round up a co-pilot.

Ed, that would be awesome if you could get down this way... long drive, but road trips are fun. If anyone from around High2By's area comes this way, I may send you back with a t-case and trans for him. :D

(Hint Hint Mark, Ed needs a co-pilot... )

I'm already on it....trying to work it out with the misses.

Next weekend would be good for me... Im going to enterprise AL to meet uo with redneck and take the grand cherokar off his hand.

Zip is 37026. I googled it one time to Troy, NC and it was like 7 hours.

Got the green light for Saturday. Now to see if I can get my co-pilot on board.

I think we need to start another thread....I'm trying to work a deal, and my better half is easily confused...."It says the 5th"....If we are also looking at a possible work day Dec 12th.....I'm game....and I may have worked the deal:wave: Not sure I wanna load that axle into the back of the XJ, but we'll see what we can do.

296.3 From Stump's to URE and 451.5 for you Ed. Wow you are right long haul for a day of wheeling. Oh well cant blame a guy for trying to steal some wheelers for a fun weekend! And on top of al that I-40 is still closed! Ugh! Hope you guys dont plan on coming SE any time soon!

What kind of greif will I get if I drive a car? Speed, comfort and gas mileage are weighing heavy here.
