Fuse...?

Today I hooked up my trailer and went out on the town to mow. I came back around dark and had my lights on, but I had no speedo light. I look at my other lights and my parking, and my tail lights wernt working. This had happend the week before and replaced the fuse and it worked just fine....Now I went and got some more fuses and threw a 10 in there, it worked!!!......for all of 2 seconds, then blew. Soooooo. I unhooked the trailer and put in another fuse and it is working. My question for you is what the heck is goin on. Is the wiring bad? I dont have a clue so help is needed. THANKS!

I had this happen to me a lot on my 84. The fuse for the interior dash ligts is tied into the tail lights and other thing. I finally upgraded to a 94 harness and engine. Never could find the short. Which is what the problem was .

I wouldnt be able to use a bigger fuse would I?

never mind. I got it fixed. The coating on the outside of the wire was rubbed off by the lights, which made it short out.
